600th Finale

The Fellowship’s highest profile project to date was in celebration of the 600th Anniversary of the University of St Andrews. With support from the University and our other partners, we organised a full day of festivities, uniting town and gown in bidding a final adieu to the three years of 600th celebrations.

Held on St Andrews Day, the Finale began with a Food Festival hosted by the St Andrews Food and Drink Festival, followed by a thanksgiving service in the Holy Trinity Church and a Town Lighting Ceremony. The ceremony finished with a procession to St Salvator’s Quadrangle where a ceilidh was held. Principal Richardson addressed the crowd comprising almost a thousand students, families and St Andreans.

The evening saw the Fellowship welcome 1,600 students, staff, and townsfolk to a formal ball on Lower College Lawn. This was the first ball of its kind held on St Andrews Day. With musical acts ranging from a cappella to an international DJ, it was an unforgettable evening, worthy of the momentous occasion it commemorated.

Through the days' events  as well as the ball, the 600th Finale Day provided a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Fellowship to bring town and gown together to celebrate the unique partnership that makes up the University of St Andrews.
